Cardiac Field Artifact in Sleep Eeg
نویسندگان
چکیده
Estimates of the cardiac field artifact were obtained for each EEG/EOG channel of all-night sleep EEG/ECG recordings by heartbeat-related averaging of the EEG. These estimates – so-called templates – can be used for minimization of the artifact, e. g. by heartbeat-synchronized subtraction of the template. The 3-dimensional nature of the cardiac field artifact is demonstrated by constructing vectorcardiograms from the templates and the corresponding electrode positions.

Automatic Processing of EEG-EOG-EMG Artifacts in Sleep Stage Classification
In this paper, we present a series of algorithms for dealing with artifacts in electroencephalograms (EEG), electrooculograms (EOG) and electromyograms (EMG). The aim is to apply artifact correction whenever possible in order to lose a minimum of data, and to identify the remaining artifacts so as not take them into account during the sleep stage classification. Nine procedures were implemented...
متن کاملMatching Pursuit based Removal of Cardiac Pulse-Related Artifacts in EEG/fMRI
Cardiac pulse-related artifacts in the EEG recorded simultaneously with fMRI are complex and highly variable. Their effective removal is an unsolved problem. Our aim is to develop an adaptive removal algorithm based on the matching pursuit (MP) technique and to compare it to established methods using a visual evoked potential (VEP). We recorded the VEP inside the static magnetic field of an MR ...
متن کاملEEG Artifact Removal System for Depression Using a Hybrid Denoising Approach
Introduction: Clinicians use several computer-aided diagnostic systems for depression to authorize their diagnosis. An electroencephalogram (EEG) may be used as an objective tool for early diagnosis of depression and controlling it from reaching a severe and permanent state. However, artifact contamination reduces the accuracy in EEG signal processing systems. Methods: This work proposes a no...

متن کاملAircraft noise effects on sleep: A systematic comparison of EEG awakenings and automatically detected cardiac arousals
OBJECTIVES: Polysomnography is the gold standard for investigating noise effects on sleep, but data collection and analysis are sumptuous and expensive. We recently developed an automatic algorithm for the identification of cardiac activations associated with cortical arousals, which uses heart rate information derived from a single electrocardiogram (ECG) channel (Basner et al. 2007a). We hypo...
